About us

Founded in 2022 Jam Drop Records focusses on recording Tasmanian musicians playing acoustic instruments not frequently heard and the wide ranging repertoire of those instruments. 

Jam Drop is also committed to on location recording where possible, as the ambience provided by beautiful spaces inspires the performer, recording personnel and ultimately the listener.

Jam Drop's 2022 - 2023 program features the lute, a beautiful old instrument currently in the middle of a revival due to such disparate parties as the Early Music scene with its drive for research and authentic performance and Popular Culture where lutes appear in movies, gaming and Bardcore.

Jam Drop Records aims to light a spark of interest in beautiful acoustic sound 

that fires up a new generation eager to discover something different.
